| Unimportant: - Spoiler:
I'm having some time and I guess I really want to be active in LF2 forums. As I feel I'm good at stage mode I want to write guide about Survival Mode XD . Great, after a long time I'm speaking of LF2 again! INTRODUCTIONUsing only the guides here, I can nearly won stage 40 with Davis, and reach stage 30 with Knight or Mark! (Normal Difficulty) This guide contains simple yet useful things that you might have not noticed yet. The important point is that you must still do your best in easier stages to save your hp, rather than wasting it. Ofcourse it is tiring if you have to read how to's of each stages. The GUIDE section will tell you general things - tips and how to's that can be applied in nearly every stages. The WALKTHROUGH section, though tiring, explains you one by one how to beat a level/stage. GUIDEThe most important point in survival mode is: "How to avoid losing HP while attacking?" All principles about how to beat AI players are gotten by paying attention of the AI's behavior. For example, in Normal difficulty, they will only punch when exactly in the front of you. In difficult/crazy mode however, characters like Mark will do D>A before getting into the position where it will actually hit. You can read the Short explanation only. The Long explanation is tiring as I haven't learned how to make things exciting. Short explanation: - Spoiler:
Best thing to do in stage mode is going to the side of the opponent (Not in the front of them!), then do dash diagonally (by keep running and then pressing jump while holding up/down). This will generally avoid most attacks while attacking an enemy (or more if you're using AOE dash attack). Don't be greedy!!! This is important, yet doesn't sound like a good way. Milk bottles can be used to boost your hp OR distract your enemy --> let one drink while you knock the other one out. This really helps on later stages. You drink one bottle and use the other one to distract an enemy. Aren't you sure you'll just give away the milk bottles to distract the enemies? See, even Noir did in later stages - it's really a useful way!
One last thing: Be patient, it is safe to use diagonal dash attacks. Using combos can do it much faster but it has much higher risks as well.
Long explanation: - Spoiler:
1. What's the safest attack? Answer: Diagonal dash attack. When running, hold up/down, then press jump. Press attack on time to hit the enemy. For fighters like Davis and Dennis however, you can just press attack as soon as you press jump. Why dash attack? Answer: Dash attack deals 70 damage. The range is longer than punch and most attacks. Why diagonal? Answer: The AI won't do attacks that can beat dash attack such as Davis' Dragon Punch. I did it diagonal, but the AI still perform Dragon Punch (or other moves)? Answer: You jumped too early. Make it so that you hit the enemy right before you get in front of them (See VisualGuide 1 for better understanding)
2. What should I do with the milk bottles? First notice that throwing them are not effective way to attack. Second, notice two ways of using them: a. Drink, HP boost. Of course this is your priority. b. Distract enemies, let them drink while you knock the other ones out. Especially on Difficult/Crazy mode, if an opponent grabs the bottle, generally it is better to use the milk to 'Distract' rather than trying to get it back. On normal difficulty, it is funny that you can keep them grabbing the milk but not drinking them. Especially Knights, Bandits, Hunters, Sorcerers: They won't do anything when grabbing a bottle and you are nearby. (Though Knight and Sorcerer can do moves they won't on normal mode. Mark and Jack will still though so becareful)
3. Who should I kill first? a. The bosses, as the soldiers will keep coming until the bosses die. Boss-Soldier relationship will be explained in the Walkthrough b. The one with less HP and reserves. For example in stage 12, you will face Sorcerer and Jack. Sorcerer has 100 HP so kill him first. Jack has 150 HP. c. The easier one to kill first. Example, on stage 13 (Monk+Mark). You should kill Mark first because he is easier to kill. Monk has great defense when performing moves.
4. When facing many opponents: Do not try to get them all at once. Do one by one, with diagonal dash attacks, that's the safest way. Diagonal dash will avoid most attacks, and you are doing the dash attack at once!
5. Focus on one target.
6. Against ranged fighters (Hunter, Henry, Rudolf): Still, use diagonal dash attack. Do not go in front of them. Instead, go to the side, run and do dash attack diagonally.
7. ADVANCED: Avoiding Henry's flute (sonata of death). Unlike most attacks, this imbalanced one is unavoidable in many conditions. But against AI, you can, by preventing Henry to perform the attack. There are some ways to do: a. Keep his MP low. By walking in front of him (you don't have to be near) he will often uses his Palm (D>A) or Critical Hit/Super Arrow (D>J). As you already know you should have time to avoid it. After doing this Henry won't have enough MP to use his flute. Your turn: knock him out. Else you can do this again later to keep his MP low. b. Keep on position. Harder, you need to always be ready if he uses his flute. Don't be too near to him except you are going to attack him.
You may be able to notice and understand all these things yourself by playing against AI. AI decides what they will do according to the position ONLY. They do not care what you are doing or where you are going. This makes it possible for us to partly control the AI's behavior as we play. This is especially important on Difficult/Crazy mode, where AI fighters are spamming moves. WALKTHROUGH - Coming right after I have free time VISUAL GUIDE - Coming right after I have free time | |

| no after stage 100 it just loops 90-100 even though the numbers keep going up so no it is not possible to beat survival Look in data files there is somewhere that says "return to 91" or something at the end of 100 | |
